The GLOW Competition first phase is complete and we will present the work of the three finalists this week!
The three finalist teams are now beginning to work with Michael Chabot of Boston Light Source and John Powell of Light Boston to develop lighting specifications and on-site logistics plan. SHIFTboston is giving each team two months to come up with a document which will clearly outline the specific materials they will be using and an application strategy for their proposals.
In late August, the GLOW jury and several representatives from the Copley community will review the detailed proposals submitted by all three finalists and select the one that is most technically feasible and suitable to the overall competition goals. We will announce the winner in September and SHIFTboston and Light Boston will provide the winning team with an award of $1,000. The winning team will then present their submission to the City of Boston Department of Parks and Recreation for consideration of construction in 2013. Please stay tuned for further announcements.
